For purposes of distribution of property, your business is the same as any other kind of property in Florida. That’s an area that you would really need to consult with your attorney and find out how much of your business and if your business is subject to equitable distribution or division between you and your spouse. Generally, the rules that apply to other forms of property will apply to your business. If the business was begun or developed during the marriage, there’s at least going to be part of it, if not all of it, that is marital, and it’ll have to be valued, and a determination on how to divide it will have to be made.
